Iapher 1 was basilikos spatharios and archon of Kommagene; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century: Zacos and Veglery 3120. The name and titles read: Ἰαφὲρ βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ καὶ ἄρχοντι τῆς Κομμαγηνῆς. Neither the name of the owner nor that of the province is read with certainty.
