Honesta 1 was the mother of pope Gregory II (Gregorios 72); she died during the pontificate of her son; described as worthy of her name ("eo namque tempore moribus certe Honesta et nomine pontificis mater ab hac vita subtracta est"); after her death her house was converted by her son into a church dedicated to St Agatha: Lib. Pont. 91. 10. From the place in the narrative she perhaps died early in his pontificate (715-731), but this is not necessarily a reliable guide.
