Hilarion 7 was a Stoudite monk, addressee of a letter from Theodore the Stoudite (Theodoros 15) written some time between 816 and 818; he had suffered imprisonment and beatings during the persecution under Leo V (Leo 15), but was now living with other monks, among them Theophylaktos 112 and Nilos 1; he had sent a gift of fish to Theodoros 15 (and the language of Theodoros 15 suggests that he was a capable fisherman); he is addressed as τέκνον ἀββᾶ Ἱλαρίων (p. 330, line 2): Theod. Stud., Ep. 208, p. 330 (addressed Ἱλαρίωνι τέκνῳ).
