Hilarion 5 was basilikos protospatharios and archon of Baginitia; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth or tenth century: Konstantopoulos, JIAN 5, 105 = Schlumberger, "Sceaux" I, 120 = Schlumberger, Mélanges, 226. The name and titles read: Εἰλ[αρ]ίωνι βασιλικῷ πρωτο[σπ]αθαρίῳ καὶ ἄρχοντι τῖς Βα[γι]νιτίας. Bageniteia is recorded in 1204 in the Partitio Romaniae.
