Protonotarios, Hesychios 3 was the addressee of a letter from Theodore the Stoudite (Theodoros 15), written between 821 and 826; he had two daughters (Anonyma 75 and Anonyma 76), the elder of whom had been dedicated by him to a religious life before her birth; when she subsequently chose instead to seek marriage to a young man, he planned to dedicate her younger sister in her place, but sought the advice of Theodoros 15 first; Theodoros 15 firmly rejected the idea; Hesychios 3 is styled τῆς παγκάλου σου τιμιότητος (p. 738, line 2), ἡ φιλότης σου (p. 739, line 7), and ἣν χρηστότης σου (p. 739, line 16), and is addressed as ὦ δέσποτα τιμιώτατε (p. 739, line 24): Theod. Stud., Ep. 500, pp. 738-740 (addressed Ἡσυχίῳ πρωτονοταρίῳ).
