A eunuch (εὐνοῦχος), Gregorios 149 was eparch of Constantinople when pope Martin (Martinos 6) was taken there, paraded through the city to the city prefect's office and then imprisoned in the prisons of the exkoubiton and of the city prefect (the praitorion); the date was in 652: Theod. Spoud., Hypomnesticum, 4, pp. 72-73, cf. p. 73, lines 1-2 (Γρηγορίῳ τῷ εὐνούχῳ καὶ ἐπάρχῳ τῆς ἀθλίας ὄντως εἰρημένης πόλεως), Hypomnesticum, IV, 197 ("Gregorio eunucho et praefecto miserae illius urbis").
