Gregorios 84 was basilikos silentiarios and chartoularios of the genikon logothesion; owner of several seals, dateable to the later eighth century: Zacos and Veglery 1486a and b = Laurent, Corpus II 358 (the name and titles read: Γρηγορίῳ βασιλικῷ σιλεντιαρίῳ καὶ χαρτο' (read as χαρτοφύλακι by Laurent and as χαρτουλαρίῳ by Zacos and Veglery) τοῦ γενικοῦ λογοθεσίου), Zacos and Veglery 1971 = Laurent, Corpus II 357 = Konstantopoulos, JIAN 9, 501b (the name and titles read: Γρηγορίῳ βασιλικῷ σιλεντιαρίῳ καὶ τοῦ λογοθ[εσ]ίου), Zacos and Veglery 1972 = Laurent, Corpus II 359 (the name and title read: Γρηγορίῳ βασιλικῷ σιλεντιαρίῳ καὶ χαρτουλαρίῳ τοῦ γενικοῦ λογοθεσίου). Konstantopoulos gives no date, Laurent dates the seals to the late eighth or early ninth century, Zacos and Veglery date 1486a and b to the eighth century and 1971 and 1972 to the second half of the eighth century. Zacos and Veglery (p. 886) regard the identity of the seal owners as possible, Laurent as certain.
