Gregorios 59 was a stratelates; owner of a seal dateable to the second half of the seventh century: Seibt, Bleisiegel I, no. 203. Obv.: +Γρη - γορη - ου+. Rev.: στρα - τηλα - τ[ου]. A similar seal is Hermitage M-1692. Two other seals (Hermitage M-1647 and Zacos and Veglery 847, both with the name and title Γρηγόριος στρατηλάτης) are rather later in date. See Seibt, op. cit.., p. 339. The title stratelates was an honorific title at this date; see PLRE III, indices, pp. 1506-1509.
