Gratianos 1 was bishop of Novaria (Novara) in N. Italy; he was one of the hundred and twenty-five Western bishops who attended the Council of Rome at Easter 680, and who subscribed the decree condemning monotheletism: Riedinger, II 2. 148, lines 33-35 (= Mansi XI 307-308) (Γρατιανὸς ἐπίσκοπος τῆς ἁγίας ἐκκλησίας Νοβάρκου; the old Latin version printed in Riedinger, II 2. 149, line 27, calls his see "sanctae ecclesiae Nouaris").
