Georgios 253 was apparently an official responsible for the apotheke of the basilika kommerkia of Helenopontus; owner of a seal dated to indictions nine and ten in the reign of the emperor Leontios 2, i.e. 695-697: Zacos and Veglery 193. Only the letters Γ..ρ.... of his name survive; the text of the office reads: ... ἀποθήκης τῶν βασιλικῶν κομμερκίων Ἑλενοπόντου.
