Basilikos spatharios, Georgios 240 was the owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century: Laurent, Orghidan 147 bis. Obv.: cross on four steps, with a circular inscription reading: Κε βοηθη τω σω δουλ. Rev.: Γεωρ - γιω β' σπ - αθαρ'. The form of the beta, like a capital R, indicates a date not before the ninth century.
