A linen-trader (μιθανῆς), Georgios 228 was the addressee of a letter from Theodore the Stoudite (Theodoros 15), written between 815 and 818, thanking him for giving shelter to Stoudite monks during the persecution under Leo V (Leo 15): Theod. Stud., Ep. 260 (addressed Γεωργίῳ μιθανῇ). He was possibly a brother or a partner of Pardos 14.
