Georgios 222 was a notarios; some time between 823 and 826 he delivered a letter from Olbianos 3 to Theodore the Stoudite (Theodoros 15); he is styled Γεώργιος ὁ θεοφιλὴς ἀνὴρ καὶ περίδοξος νοτάριος; he passed on Olbianos 3's request for a written reply and also told Theodoros 15 about Olbianos 3's considerable successes: Theod. Stud., Ep. 541, pp. 816-817 (?a. 823/826; addressed to Olbianos 3). Olbianos 3 was strategos of the Armeniakoi, and Georgios 222 was perhaps one of his notarioi. See however Georgios 229.
