Georgios 171 was basilikos protospatharios and strategos of Chaldia; owner of a seal dateable between the mid ninth century and the early tenth: Zacos II 155. Obv.: patriarchal cross on base and steps; circular inscription of +Κ(υρι)ε βοηθη τῳ σῳ δουλῳ. Rev.: +Γεωρ - γιῳ β' α' ς - παθ' κ' στρ - ατηγ' Χα. The name and titles read: Γεωργίῳ βασιλικῷ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ καὶ στρατηγῷ Χαλδίας.
