Georgios 170 was basilikos mandator and archon of Erythrai; owner of a seal dateable between the mid ninth and the early tenth centuries: Zacos II 152. Obv.: patriarchal cross on base and two steps; circular inscription of Κ[υρι]ε βοηθ[ει] τω σω δουλ. Rev.: +Γεοργ - ιω β' μαν - δατορι και α - ρχοντι - ερυθ'. The name and titles read: Γεωργίῳ βασιλικῷ μανδάτορι καὶ ἄρχοντι Ἐρύθρων. The beta is in the form of a capital Latin R, indicating a date not before the early ninth century.
