Georgios 138 was archbishop of Ravenna ("Georgius, archiepiscopus ecclesiae Ravennensis"); he was one of the Italian bishops who attended the Council of Rome in 844 with Drogo 1; the Council was apparently not convened canonically (the bishops had not been summoned by their metropolitans - they assembled "sine metropolitani concessione atque vocatione") but they went because they had complaints to make against pope Sergius II (Sergios 60): Lib. Pont. 104. 14.
