Georgios 120 was patrikios and strategos; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth century (Schlumberger dated it to the eighth or ninth century, but see below on the date): Schlumberger, Sig., p. 565, no. 9 (facsimile). Obv.: invocative monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει with the legend τω - σω - δου - λω. Rev.: Γεωργι - ῳ πατρι - κιῳ και στρ - ατιγῳ. The same man probably owned a similar seal, dateable to the eighth century, which belonged to Georgios patrikios and strategos: Zacos and Veglery 1928. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: Γεωργ[ι] - ω πατρι - κιω και στρ - ατιγω. The name and titles read: Γεωργίῳ πατρικίῳ καὶ στρατηγῷ. On the eighth century date, see Winkelmann, Rangstruktur, p. 118 (citing Shandrovskaia in support).
