Georgios 109 was basilikos spatharios and tourmarches of Peloponnesos; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth century: Schlumberger, Sig., p. 179, n. 5, no. 2 (with facsimile) = Mordtmann, "Plombs" I, p. 294, no. 8 = Bon, Le Péloponnèse byzantin, p. 187, no. 8. Obv.: invocative monogram of Κύριε βοήθει with the legend τω - σω - δου - λω. Rev.: [Γεω]ρ[γ] - ιῳ β(ασιλικῷ) ς - παθαρ(ίὼ) κ(αὶ) - τουμάρ(χῃ) - Πελο(ποννήσου). Cf. Winkelmann, Rangstruktur, p. 104, with n. 2, supporting an eighth century date (against Bon, who preferred a later date). The name was read as [Σε]ρ[γ]ίῳ by Seibt and the seal dated by him to the first quarter of the ninth century; see Seibt, Skleroi, p. 19, n. 5 (and see Winkelmann, loc. cit., n. 3).
