Georgios 101 was bishop of Monobasia (i. e. Monembasia); owner of a seal dateable to the late ninth century: Laurent, Corpus V 1, no. 577 = Schlumberger, Sig., p. 186 = Likhachev, IZIGI, p. 69, fig. 133. Obv.: bust of the Virgin, with the invocative formula +Θεοτόκ(ε) βοήθ(ει) του [σου] δ(ου)λ(ου). Rev.: +Γεωρ - γιου επι - σκοπου - Μονοβ(ασιας). Laurent believed that he lived around AD 900 (op. cit., p. 341, note).
