Georgios 98 was an official of the Great Church (see below); owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century: Laurent, Corpus V 1, no. 62. Obv.: invocative monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει with the legend τω - σω - δου - λω. Rev.: [+][Γ]ε[ω]ρ - [γι]ω επηκ - . της Μ(ε)γ(αλης) [Εκ] - κλισ(ιας). The restoration of his office is not certain. Laurent proposed ἐπὶ κτημάτων, which is unconvincing (cf. Oikonomides, Listes, p. 318, n. 180).
