Georgios 88 was a patrikios; owner of a seal dateable to the iconoclast period (VIII/M IX): Ebersolt, "Sceaux byzantins", p. 390, no. 464. Obv.: cruciform monogram in the name of the Virgin. Rev.: Γεώργιος πατρίκιος. Two similar seals which possibly belonged to the same person are Zacos and Veglery 1925 (dateable to the first half of the eighth century; the text reads: obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners; rev.: Γεωρ - γιω πα - τρικιω, with crosses above and below) and Konstantopoulos, JIAN 6, 450 (dateable to the eighth or ninth century; the name and title read: Γεωργίῳ πατρί[κ]ηῳ).
