Georgios 47 was bishop of Synodion in Galatia Secunda; in 692 he attended the Quinisext Council and signed the canons: Ohme, Bischofsliste, p. 162, no. 154 (= Mansi XI 1000) (Γεώργιος ἐλάχιστος ἐπίσκοπος πόλεως Συνοδίων τῆς δευτέρας τῶν Γαλατῶν ἐπαρχίας). In Mansi the name was read as Synnada and the see was identified as Eudoxias by Ramsay, Historical Geography, p. 225.
