Georgios 26 was bishop of Flavias in Cilicia (see below); in 681 he attended the Third Council of Constantinople (the Sixth Ecumenical Council) and was present at the last three sessions (sessions sixteen, seventeen and eighteen, on August 9, September 11 and September 16): Riedinger, pp. 692-828 (= Mansi XI 616-680). In the subscriptions to the statement of the faith, which condemned monotheletism, and to the Council, he is styled Γεώργιος ἐλάχιστος (Riedinger, p. 828, line 22 = Mansi XI 680 reads: ἐλέει Θεοῦ) ἐπίσκοπος πόλεως Φλαβιάδος or "Georgius misericordia Dei episcopus civitatis Flaviades secundae Ciliciae provinciae": Riedinger, p. 747, line 11, 794, line 20, p. 828, line 22 (= Mansi XI 653, 680). Flavias was a city situated north of Anazarbos in the old province of Cilicia Secunda (see Ramsay, Historical Geography, pp. 280-281, 385). In the lists of those attending each session Georgios is styled Γεωργίου ἐπισκόπου Φλαβιάδος or "Georgio episcopo Flaviados": Riedinger, p. 692, line 29, p. 711, line 13, p. 764, line 9 (= Mansi XI 616, 629). In each list his name immediately follows those of the bishops of Korykos and Adana, both in Cilicia Prima.
