Georgios 11 was bishop of Tauriana in Calabria (i.e. in Bruttium); he was one of the Western bishops who attended the Council of Rome at Easter 680, and who subscribed the decree condemning monotheletism: Riedinger, p. 142, lines 25-27 (= Mansi XI 301-302) (Γεώργιος ἐλάχιστος ἐπίσκοπος τῆς ἁγίας ἐκκλησίας Ταυριάνης ἐπαρχίας Καλαβρίας). Calabria at this date included the former province of Bruttium.
