Gennadios 1 was an apo hypaton; owner of a seal dateable to the sixth or seventh century: Schlumberger, Sig., p. 480, no. 24 (facsimile). Obv.: eagle with wings upraised and an invocative monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει. Rev.: +Γεν - ναδιω α - πο υπατ - ων. Cf. PLRE III, p. 511, Gennadius 4 for similar seals of the sixth or seventh century.
