Gaudiosos 1 was bishop of Puteoli in Campania; he was one of the hundred and twenty-five Western bishops who attended the Council of Rome at Easter 680, and who subscribed the decree condemning monotheletism: Riedinger, p. 140, line 26-28 (= Mansi XI 300) (Γάρζιχος (sic) χάριτι Θεοῦ ἐπίσκοπος τῆς ἁγίας ἐν Ποτιολάνῳ ἐκκλησίας ἐπαρχίας Καμπανίας; the old Latin version printed in Riedinger, p.141, line 24, gives his name and title as "Gaudiosus gratia Dei episcopus sanctae ecclesiae Puteolanae provinciae Campaniae").
