Gabriel 2 was archbishop of Hellas (probably Corinth); owner of a seal dateable to the eighth or ninth century: Laurent, Corpus V 1, no. 555 = Schlumberger, Sig., p. 183, no. 2. Obv.: invocative monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει. Rev.: Γαβριηλ - αρχιεπις - κοπου Ελλ - [α]δος. On the identification of his see as Corinth, see Laurent, op. cit., pp. 413-414, note. It is to be noted that the rare name Gabriel is recorded in 787 at the Second Council of Nikaia as bishop of Aigina (Gabriel 1).
