Seal SourcesZacos, G. and Veglery, A., Byzantine Lead Seals, vol. I (in 3 parts) (Basel, 1972).

Eustathios 41 was basilikos spatharios, later basilikos spatharokandidatos, and kleisouriarches of Seleukeia; owner of two seals dateable, the first to the ninth century, the second to the second half of the ninth century: Zacos and Veglery 1899 and 1902. The name and title on 1899 read: Εὐσταθίῳ βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ καὶ κλεισουριάρχῃ Σελευκείας. The name and title on 1902 read: Εὐσταθίῳ βασιλικῷ σπαθαροκανδιδάτῳ καὶ κλεισουριάρχῃ Σελευκείας. The two seals are so similar that, according to Zacos and Veglery, they "obviously" belong to one and the same person, who therefore received a promotion of dignity while holding the office of kleisouriarches of Seleukeia from that of basilikos spatharios to that of basilikos spatharokandidatos. His office must have been at Seleukeia in Isauria.
