Eusebia 1 was a nun and hegoumene of an unknown monastery; addressee of a letter from the patriarch Photius (Photios 1) consoling her on the death of one of her nuns; she had written a letter expressing her grief to Photios 1; she herself had been dedicated to the life of a nun since childhood (ἐκ βρέφους Θεῷ ἐκολλήθης καὶ τῷ ἀφθάρτῳ καὶ ἀθανάτῳ νυμφίῳ Χριστῷ συνηρμόσθης) and had lost contact with her parents, brothers and other relatives: Photius, Ep. 245 (II 173ff. Laourdas-Westerink) (date uncertain; addressed Εὐσεβίᾳ μοναζούσῃ καὶ ἡγουμένῃ παραμυθητικὴ ἐπὶ ἀδελφῇ τελευτησάσῃ).
