Elpidios 4 was a Stoudite monk; he was an assistant (ὑπουργός) of his fellow monk Basilios 153; early in the ninth century he deserted the monastic community and left the monastery; he is mentioned in a sermon of Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite): Theod. Stud., Catech. Magna II 108 (pp. 789ff. Papadopoulos-Kerameus). Cf. also Euthalios 2.
