A priest, Elias 25 was the addressee of a letter from Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite) in reply to questions; children should not be forced by their parents to enter a monastery against their will; a monk guilty of misbehaviour should be guided by Elias back to the right path, but another monk who had lapsed was to be left to his fate: Theod. Stud., Ep. 516 (addressed Ἠλίᾳ πρεσβυτέρῳ). The date of the letter is uncertain.
