Eirenaios 1 was a magistros in the reign of Michael II (Michael 10); when Sicily revolted and the Arabs began to attack, he quoted verses warning of troubles to come from the serpent of Babylon: Ps.-Symeon 622 (Εἰρην́αιον τὸν μάγιστρον). This story is not found in Leo Gramm. or Georg. Mon. Cont.
