Dorotheos 1 was hegoumenos of Chrysopolis (Δωρόθεον, τὸν ἡγούμενον Χρυσοπόλεως); in late 797 he was sent by Eirene 1 with Konstantinos 14 to discuss peace with Abimelech (Abdulmalik 2), the commander of Arabs marauding in Cappadocia and Galatia; the mission was a failure: Theoph. AM 6290.
