Deusdedit 1 was bishop of Brixia in N. Italy; he was one of the hundred and twenty-five Western bishops who attended the Council of Rome at Easter 680, and who subscribed the decree condemning monotheletism: Riedinger, p. 150, lines 6-8 (= Mansi XI 307-308) (Δεϊουσδέδιθ ἐπίσκοπος τῆς ἁγίας ἐκκλησίας Βρεκτιάνα; the old Latin version printed in Riedinger does not record the name of his see, but Mansi calls his see "sanctae ecclesiae Brixianensis").
