Demetrios 1 was bishop of the island of Tenos; in 681 he attended the Third Council of Constantinople (the Sixth Ecumenical Council) and was present at the last nine sessions (sessions ten to eighteen, from 18 March to 16 September): Riedinger, pp. 282-828 (= Mansi XI 389-680). In the subscriptions to the statement of the faith, which condemned monotheletism, and to the Council, he is styled Δημήτριος ἐλέει Θεοῦ ἐπίσκοπος νήσου Τίνου: Riedinger, p. 794, line 15, p. 828, line 19 (= Mansi XI 652, 680). In the lists of those attending each session he is styled Δημητρίου ἐπισκόπου Τίνου: Riedinger, p. 282, line 20, p. 406, line 31 etc. (= Mansi, 389, 460, etc.)
