Christophoros 22 was a basilikos spatharokandidatos and epi ton barbaron; owner of two seals dateable to the middle of the ninth century: Laurent, Corpus II 496, Laurent, Corpus II 497 = Schlumberger, Sig., pp. 449-450, no. 7. Obv.: a cross with the legend (ησοῦ)ς Χ(ριστὸ)ς νικᾷ in the quarters and the legend κ(ύρι)ε βοήθει τῷ σῷ δούλῳ. Rev.: +Χρηστοφόρο β(ασιλικῷ) σπαθ(αρο)κανδιδ(άτῳ) (καὶ) ἐπὴ τ(ῶν) βαρβά(ρων). Basilikos protospatharios and epi ton barbaron; owner of a seal dateable to the middle of the ninth century: Laurent, Corpus II 498 = Schlumberger, Sig., p. 449, no. 6 (facsimile). Obv.: bust of Christ and the legend Κ(ύρι)ε β(οήθει) τῷ σῷ δούλῳ. Rev.: +Χρης - τωφ(όρῳ) β(ασιλικῷ) (πρωτο) - σπαθ(αρίῳ) (καὶ) ἐπὶ - τον βαρ(βάρον). While in office as epi ton barbaron he first held the dignity of basilikos spatharokandidatos and later acquired the higher dignity of basilikos protospatharios; cf.
