Christophoros 16 was bishop of Noumerika; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth or ninth century: DOSeals III 61.1 = Laurent, Corpus V 1, 396 = Zacos and Veglery 1330 (VIII/IX, not IX as Laurent, see Nesbitt and Oikonomides, DO Seals III, note, p. 110). Obv.: Virgin standing, holding the Child, and on either side monograms of Θεοτόκε and βοήθη, and the inscription Νου - μ - ε - ρι - κω - ν. Rev.: cruciform monogram of τω σω δουλω with the name Χρι - στο - φο - ρω in the corners. The name and title read: Χριστοφόρῳ Νουμερικῶν.
