Basilios 126 was a monk; he was the addressee of a letter from Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite) written between 824 and 826; Theodoros 15 had also written to Basilios 126 previously; Basilios 126 had written to Theodoros 15 to inform him of the death of an hegoumene (Anonyma 82) and ten of her nuns and he was now responsible for both monasteries, the men's and the women's (he was presumably therefore an hegoumenos); Basilios 126 is styled by Theodoros 15 as τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ Βασιλείου: Theod. Stud., Ep. 515 (addressed Βασιλείῳ μονάζοντι).
