Basilios 83 was basilikos protospatharios and strategos of Thessalonike; owner of a seal dateable between the middle of the ninth and the early tenth centuries: Zacos, Seals II 102. Obv.: cross on steps with tendrils; circular legend reading [+] Κ(ύρι)ε βοήθη τῷ σῷ δ[ούλῳ]. Rev.: ...ας - ...ω β(ασιλικῷ) α'σπ - [α]θαπ' (sic) (και) στρ - [α]τηγ(ωι) Θες - αλον(ικης). The name and titles are to be read: Βασιλείῳ βασιλικῷ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ καὶ στρατηγῷ τῆς Θεσσαλονίκης.
