Basilios 48 was bishop of Oroboi; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century: Laurent, Corpus V 1, 872 = Schlumberger, Sig., pp. 120-121 = Konstantopoulos, JIAN 5, 13 = Laurent, Bulles Métriques, no. 583. The reading επισκ(οπον) Οροβω[ν] is preferred by Laurent, after examination of the piece, to the reading of earlier editors, επισκο(πον) [Π]ροβ(ατου). Oroboi is otherwise known only as a monastery; see Laurent, Corpus V 1, p. 682, note.
