Basilios 31 was rector of Calabria; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth or ninth century: DOSeals I 4.10 = Zacos and Veglery 2635. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε (or Κύριε) βοήθει, with τω - .. - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: [Βα]σι[λε]ιω ῥεκ[τ]ορι Καλ[αβ]ριας, α[μ]ην. See note in DOSeals I, loc. cit. for the nature of this office (probably administrator of former papal estates now under imperial management).
