Basilios 5 was bishop of Sbide in Isauria; in 692 he attended the Quinisext Council in Constantinople and signed the canons: Ohme, Bischofsliste, p. 159, no. 134 (= Mansi XI 1000) (Βασίλειος ἐλέῳ Θεοῦ ἐπίσκοπος Σβίδης τῆς Ἰσαύρων ἐπαρχίας).
