Bashir 1 was a satrap; he led a raid into the lands of the Romans under the caliph al-Mutasim 1; he was surprised by Nasir (Theophobos 1) and lost the captives he had taken; following the killing of Nasir (Theophobos 1) he was given a golden torque by al-Mutasim 1: Mich.
