Bartholomaios 2 was archbishop (of Narbo); he was dismissed from his office for misconduct; in 844 Bartholomaios 2 and Ebbo 1 visited Rome and asked the bishop Sergius II (Sergios 60) to reinstate them; the pope refused but allowed them to take communion together with the laity: Lib. Pont. 104. 16.
