Bardas 16 was a basilikos spatharios and strategos of Thrace; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century: DOSeals I 71.24 = Zacos and Veglery 1761c. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Κύριε βοήθει with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: +Βαρ - .α β' σπα' και - .τρα.ιγ'. - .ρακης. The name and titles read: Βάρ[δ]ᾳ βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ και [σ]τρα[τ]ιγῷ [τῆς Θ]ρᾴκης. Cf. also Bardas 11 (the seals of these two persons are different in several respects).
