Baodolin 1 was a holy man ("vir mirae sanctitatis"), endowed with the gift of prophecy and the ability to know about far away events; Baodolin 1 lived in Italy at a place called Forum near the river Tanarum (perhaps the river Tanaro, also called the Scultenna); Baodolin 1 once impressed king Liutprand 1 by knowing that Aufusus 1 was dead already before news could have reached him: Paul.
