Baanes 16 was a patrikios, magistros and komes of the Hieron; owner of seals dateable to the seventh or eighth century: DOSeals III 81. 1, Zacos and Veglery 3212. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Κύριε βοήθει with .ω - δου - .. - σου in the corners. Rev.: + - Βα. - .η πατρ. - ω μαγις - και κομι - .υε.ου. The name and titles read: Βαάνῃ πατρικίῳ, μαγίστρῳ καὶ κόμιτι τοῦ Ὑεροῦ. The two seals are from the same boulloterion. This entry updates Baanes 10.
