Baanes 14 was a hypatos and basilikos spatharios; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth century: Zacos and Veglery 2568. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - δου - λω - σου in the corners. Rev.: +Βαα - νιω υπα - τω και βασι - λ' σπαθα - ριω+. The name and title read: Βαανίῳ ὑπάτῳ καὶ βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ.
