Ayub 1 ('ywb) was the son of Sulayman 4; he died in October 717, like his father, and so the next caliph was `Umar (Omar 2) son of `Abd al-`Aziz (Abdul Aziz 2): Chron. 1234, ยง161 (p. 306).
