Audaces 1 was bishop of Dertona in N. Italy; he was one of the hundred and twenty-five Western bishops who attended the Council of Rome at Easter 680, and who subscribed the decree condemning monotheletism: Riedinger, p. 150, lines 9-11 (= Mansi XI 307-308) (Ἀυδάκης ἐπίσκοπος τῆς ἁγίας ἐκκλησίας Δεστονένσου; the old Latin version printed in Riedinger, p. 151, calls him "Audacis episcopus sanctae ecclesiae Dertonensis").
